Just one month into 2026, and the smartphone world is already buzzing with rumours and speculation about upcoming device launches expected in February and March.
Samsung traditionally unveils its flagship Galaxy S series early each year, and 2026 looks set to follow the same pattern. While an official date has not yet been confirmed, reports from Forbes, Mashable, and other tech publications suggest the Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on 25 February 2026, with devices potentially shipping from 12 March 2026.
Expected Galaxy S26 Models
Based on Samsung’s previous release cycles, three new smartphones are expected to be announced:
Performance Upgrades and RAM Rumours
The Galaxy S26 lineup is rumoured to feature the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. There is also speculation that the Galaxy S26 Ultra could include up to 16GB of RAM — an increase from the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s 12GB.
However, due to ongoing global RAM supply constraints, this upgrade may be limited or result in higher pricing for premium variants.
Battery Life and Charging Improvements
Battery capacities across the Galaxy S26 range are expected to fall between 4,300mAh and 5,500mAh. Samsung has historically kept flagship batteries smaller than those in its Galaxy A series, though recent models have begun closing that gap.
Fast charging may see a significant upgrade, with rumours suggesting support for up to 60W charging. The introduction of Qi2 wireless charging is also expected, following the growing popularity of MagSafe compatible accessories.
New Display and Privacy Features
Mashable has stated that Samsung has reportedly confirmed a built-in privacy screen feature for the Galaxy S26 lineup. Meanwhile Tom's Guide stated, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is rumoured to debut a new “Flex Magic” display technology that could enhance screen security and usability.
It remains to be seen whether these display upgrades will appear across all models or remain exclusive to the Ultra version.
What to Expect Next
As we move closer to Samsung’s official announcement, more leaks and confirmed details are expected to surface. The Galaxy S26 series looks set to bring major improvements in performance, charging speed, and display innovation.
