As always, there’s a mix of facts, leaks, and rumours surrounding the upcoming release. Apple never confirms details before the event, so while some speculation proves accurate, other predictions miss the mark. Here’s everything we know (and what we don’t) about the iPhone 17 range.
What Will the New iPhone Be Called?

That said, Apple has surprised us before. For example, in 2018, the market expected an iPhone 9, but Apple unveiled the iPhone XR instead. Case makers had already stocked shelves with “iPhone 9” packaging, creating confusion. To avoid similar mistakes, manufacturers now often label products as “New 2024 iPhone 6.1” or similar until the official names are confirmed.
So while we’ll refer to the devices as iPhone 17 models for clarity, Apple could still shake things up.
